This is very bad news for the left.

With only six months to go until the midterm elections, Democrats are facing multiple crises. The war in Ukraine, the COVID-19 pandemic, the immigration crisis, and the high inflation rates have all brought the Democratic party into a tough spot.

President Biden has also been experiencing low approval rates, and the Democrats are also facing a historic pattern of the ruling party losing seats in the first midterm of its tenure.

However, many Democrats maintain that a turnaround is possible, while others are far less optimistic.

“I think this is going to be a biblical disaster,” said one Democratic strategist. “This is the reality we are in as Democrats and no one wants to face it.”

A new report released on Tuesday also showed that inflation rates had increased by 8.5 percent. This is the highest figure since 1981.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) in a statement noted that the inflation rate is “out of control.” He also noted that the Biden administration and the Federal Reserve had “failed to act fast enough.”

The immigration crisis also appears to be worsening as according to the Department of Homeland Security an influx of up to 18,000 immigrants per day is expected later this year. President Biden has also noted that Title 42 would stop being in effect which will also have negative effects on the immigration crisis.

In terms of Biden’s approach to the war in Ukraine, while his efforts have been praised there have not been any boosts in his approval rates. This in part is because of the economic effects of the war felt in America.

COVID-19 also continues to inflict harm on both the economy and the American people as there are now almost 1 million deaths caused by the illness.

“We are in a very chaotic moment right now,” said Joel Payne, a Democratic strategist, “There’s COVID, Afghanistan was just last year, now there’s the war in Ukraine, and the economy is up or down depending on who you are. There is this general instability that sunk Donald Trump a mere 18 or 20 months ago, and it is now Joe Biden’s problem, Joe Biden’s challenge.”
