They need someone better.

The former press secretary to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has spoken out on her feelings toward Vice President Kamala Harris.

“It would be a tragedy if this woman won the presidency,” Iuliia Mendel tweeted after Harris’ Thursday press conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda. In the press conference, the two addressed the war in Ukraine which was unjustifiably initiated by Russia’s invasion.

Mendel’s tweet was about a video posted showing Harris awkwardly laughing after a question about Ukrainian refugees. In the video, Harris, and Duda appeared to be visibly confused on who should respond to the question. As a response to the reporter’s question, Harris awkwardly laughed as she said, “A friend in need is a friend indeed.”

Duda then said he could respond first and started speaking.

Following the exchange, Harris was criticized as many accused her of not answering without Duda’s assistance and others slammed her for her little laugh during a time of suffering for Ukrainians.

Harris had traveled to Poland to reinforce the U.S. support and position with its NATO allies. Harris was also meant to show support for the alliance amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24 and has since then continued carrying out assaults in multiple Ukrainian cities as they are moving towards the country’s capital.
