America is a mess right now.

President Biden is set to speak to Senate Democrats and House Democrats during their respective caucus retreats. On Wednesday Biden will address the Senate Democratic caucus retreat according to a statement made by the White House press secretary Jen Psaki. The Democratic National Committee members will be addressed on Thursday night and Friday Biden will travel to Philadelphia to speak to the House Democratic Caucus retreat.

Last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Biden and vice President Harris had spoken to the Democratic summits virtually and not in person. But this year the President would be traveling to appear at the summits for his speech.

These retreats are following the State of the Union address which the President delivered last week. During his address, he set clear goals and priorities for the next year. He also urged the Democratic party members to pass key parts of his agenda that relate to the child tax credit, health care, the increase in the minimum wage, and the pro-union bill.

So far, it looks like the Democrats may have a hard time retaining their narrow majority in the House and senate. With the midterm elections coming up soon it will be interesting to see whether the trend of the ruling party losing seats during the midterm elections will stand true this year.
